WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PTFE PIPES OVER PE PIPES?In terms of performance, what are the advantages of PTFE pipes over PE pipes? Before the emergence of ptfe materials, metal and rubber pipes were mostly used as medium for chemical transportation, but because of the pressure and low corrosion resistance, there were many damages and high economic costs. After the emergence of PTFE pipes, due to their corrosion resistance, aging resistance, low friction coefficient and non-stickiness, wide temperature resistance range and good elasticity, they have been more widely used. They can be used as conveying pipes, exhaust pipes, steam pipes for conveying corrosive gases, high-pressure oil pipes for rolling mills, high-, medium- and low-pressure pipes for aircraft hydraulic systems and cold pressing systems, heat exchangers, linings of kettles, towers, tanks, valves and other chemical equipment. In terms of performance, what are the advantages of PTFE pipes over PE pipes?
1. Heat resistance. PE pipes may not be able to hold up at 150℃ and soften and deform, while PTFE can withstand 280℃ and can increase the temperature at a relatively fast speed. 2. Corrosion resistance. Although PE tubes have a certain degree of acid and alkali resistance, the range is narrow and they cannot withstand oxidizing acids; PTFE tubes have stronger corrosion resistance, and they are resistant to acid, alkali, oxidants and reducing agents. 3. Flame retardancy. PE tubes should be stored with fire prevention, and they will spontaneously combust; PTFE tubes are not easy to burn and have a certain flame retardant ability, because they are flammable only when the oxygen content is greater than 95%. 4. In terms of price, PTFE tubes are much more expensive than PE tubes. PTFE is not only used as a medium for transportation, but also as a medical material and used in industries with high food requirements. It is suitable for food, beverage and other processing and production departments with strict hygiene requirements. SEONTEC supply high quality PTFE pipe and PE pipe, welcome to inquire!
