PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATION OF EXPANDED PTFE GASKETSPerformance characteristics of expanded PTFE gaskets:1. Easy to cut, can be cut into any shape by mechanical stamping or manual cutting. It is convenient for people to install and use, making your work easier.
2. Because expanded PTFE gaskets have unique conformability to molding. Therefore, when we install and use, we can produce a good sealing effect on the rough or damaged flange surface without adding much pressure.
3. It has strong resistance to chemical corrosion. It does not react with any chemical except a few chemical substances such as molten alkali metals, free fluorine, and tertiary nuclei. Therefore, expanded PTFE gaskets can be used in all sealing occasions within the allowable temperature (315℃). This will greatly reduce the variety and quantity of seals.
4. Due to the unique high-density fiber structure of expanded PTFE material, it has strong anti-creep properties; because it does not contain any adhesives and additives, its mechanical properties are very stable.
Application of expanded PTFE gaskets:
1. Expanded PTFE gaskets can be used for compression sealing of various interfaces with different hardness, such as: (1) rigid metal interfaces (generally 3mm); (2) fiberglass interfaces (generally 3mm); (3) plastic lining interfaces (used for interfaces with a diameter of less than or equal to DN300); (4) enamel and steel-lined glass interfaces.
2. Expanded PTFE gaskets have good leakage resistance and a gas leakage rate of less than 1×10-4. Therefore, Dankai PTFE gaskets can also be used for corrosive gas sealing, such as chlorine, vinyl chloride gas, etc., helping many large caustic soda plants and chlor-alkali plants solve the leakage problem of chlorine and other gases.
