PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATIONS OF EXPANDED PTFE GASKETPerformance characteristics:1. Easy to cut, can be mechanically stamped or manually cut into any shape. It will be easy to install and use, and making your work easier. 2. Due to the unique ability of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene gaskets to conform to molding. Therefore, when we install and use it, we can produce a good sealing effect on rough or damaged flange surfaces without adding much pressure. 3. Has strong resistance to chemical corrosion. It does not react with any chemical substances except for a few chemical substances such as molten alkali metals, free fluorine, and tertiary nuclei. Therefore, expansion PTFE gaskets can be used in all sealing situations within the allowable temperature range (315°C). This will greatly reduce the variety and quantity of seals. 4. Due to the unique high-density fiber structure of the expanded polytetrafluoroethylene material, it has strong creep resistance; because it does not contain any adhesives and additives, its mechanical properties are very stable.
Application of expanded PTFE gasket:1. Because expanded PTFE gaskets can be used for pressure sealing of a variety of interfaces with different hardnesses, such as: (1) Rigid metal interface (generally used is 3mm); (2) Fiberglass interface (generally used is 3mm); (3) Plastic lining interface (used for diameters less than or equal to DN300); (4) Enamel, used on steel-lined glass interface. 2. Due to the good leakage resistance of expanded PTFE gasket, the gas leakage rate is less than 1×10-4. Therefore, SEONTEC PTFE gaskets can also be used to seal corrosive gases, such as chlorine gas, vinyl chloride gas, etc., helping many large caustic soda plants and chlor-alkali plants solve the leakage problem of chlorine and other gases.
