What is Polyamide?
Polyamide is commonly known as nylon (Nylon), the English name is Polyamide (PA for short), and its density is 1.15g/cm3. It is a general term for thermoplastic resins containing repeating amide groups - [NHCO] - on the molecular main chain, including aliphatic PA, aliphatic-aromatic Family PA and aromatic PA.
Nylon materials are widely used, ranging from nylon stockings to automobile engine peripheral parts, etc., and have pervaded every aspect of daily life. Different application fields have different requirements for nylon material performance, such as high temperature resistance, wear resistance and impact resistance, chemical reagent resistance, transparency and resilience, etc.
Conventional engineering plastic nylon generally refers to the two common varieties of PA6 and MC nylon. Conventional nylon still has major shortcomings after modifications such as reinforcement and flame retardancy, such as strong hydrophilicity, high temperature intolerance, poor transparency, etc., which limits more applications. In order to improve shortcomings and add new properties, generally by introducing new synthetic monomers, a series of special nylons with different properties and suitable for different use occasions can be obtained, mainly divided into high-temperature nylon, long carbon chain nylon, transparent nylon, Bio-based nylon and nylon elastomers, etc.
